Backing Up iPad Photos To Google Drive

For security reasons, the Google Photos app is no longer available to staff or students.  Additionally, due to Google's new storage limits the practice of syncing/backing up all photos from a mobile device to Google Drive will not be permitted.  Only photos/videos being used for current instruction should be backed up to Google Drive.  

The following steps show how to save photos and/or videos from an ipad to Google Drive (not Google Photos.)  The Google Drive app should already be on the iPad.  If not, it can be downloaded from Meraki.

The first time you use Drive for uploading photos you'll need to change a setting.  This only has to be done the first time!

Tap the Settings app.
Scroll to find the Drive app settings on the left
Tap to select All Photos.  

To save a photo in your camera roll to Google Drive, tap on the Drive app.

Click on the + at the bottom right of the main window then click Upload.

Select Photos and Videos.

Select Recents

Click to check the photo(s) or video(s) you want to upload then click Upload.
