SCCM - Install Application from Software Center/Company Portal

Software Center:

IMPORTANT: You must be on the district internal network in order to install applications from the Software Center. The district has recently extended WiFi access into the parking lot of most campuses. More information can be found here: WiFi Access In HandySchool Parking Lots

The software self service portal for Windows computers is called Software Center.  Follow the steps below to install an available app.

NOTE: If you do not see the application you are looking for, it may not show up until your computer has checked into the system. You can force your computer to check in by running the "Policy Update" task from the Software Center. After running the task close Software Center and wait about 5 minutes then try again.

1. Locate the "Software Center" application on your desktop or from the start menu.

2. Once you are in Software Center locate the application you need to install. Make sure you have selected the Applications tab on the left.

3. When you have located the app you want click on the icon and you will be taken to the App's details window. Simply click "Install" from here.

4. The status window will update to show you the download progress then eventually will start the installation process.

5. Once the application is installed you will get a popup in the Windows notification area down by the clock.

Company Portal:

NOTE: The Company Portal application will eventually replace Software Center at a later date. You will be able to find the same applications that are available to you in Software Center in the Company Portal and new applications will be added to the Company Portal in the future. 

1. Locate the "Company Portal" application on your desktop or from the start menu.

2. Once you are in the Company Portal app, locate the application(s) you need to install. Make sure you have selected the Apps tab on the left.

3. When you have located the app you want click on the icon and you will be taken to the App's details window. Simply click "Install" from here.
